Patuakhali District Public Library celebrates National Library Day 2021

On 5 February 2021, all The District Public Libraries of Bangladesh celebrated National Library Day 2021 all over the country in a very festive mood. On the occasion, Patuakhali District Public Library also arranged an inaugural function, discussion, distribution of prizes, and cultural program at District Government Auditorium.

Md Motiul Islam Chowdhury, Deputy Commissioner was present as the chief guest in the event while Mr Mohiuddin Ahmed, Mayor, Patuakhali Municipality, Patuakhali; Advocate Mr MD. Golam Sarwar, Chairman, Upazila Parishad, Patuakhali Sadar; Ms Israt Jahan, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) and Mr Sheikh Billal Hossain, Representative of Superintendent of Police, Additional Superintendent of Police Potuakhali were present as the special guests.

Teachers and students of various educational institutions, journalists and other local people attended as the guests. The function was presided by Ms Marufa Akhter, Assistant Librarian, District Government Public Library, Potuakhali.

The District Public Library of Patuakhali has recently set up a Mujib Corner as a part of their celebration of the Mujib’s Centenary. On the occasion of National Library Day 2021, Deputy Commissioner Md. Motiul Islam Chowdhury inaugurated the Mujib Corner of this Public Library.
