Announcement of the 2021 ASIS&T SIG-III International Paper Contest

The Special Interest Group on International Information Issues (SIG-III) of the Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T), announced its 2021 winners for the International Paper Contest (IPC).

This year, the jury board received a good number of papers from Iran, Malaysia, Pakistan, and Turkey. The competition was tough as two papers qualified for third position!

The winners are as follows. 

First Place: “Usage of SNS among Underprivileged Entrepreneurs: Effect of Social Capital and Attachment” by Sia Wan Qi, & Nurul Afiqah, M.E.S, Department of Library & Information Sciences, Faculty of Computer Science & Information Technology Universiti Malaya, Malaysia.

Second Place: “Information Sharing Behavior of Facebook Users in Pakistan: A Case of COVID-19” by Amara Malik, Talat Islam and Khalid Mahmood, University of the Punjab, Lahore-Pakistan

Third Place: “Impact of Knowledge Sharing on Nurses’ Job Satisfaction: The Mediating Effect of Innovation Behavior” by Ghulam Murtaza Rafiq, Department of Information Management, University of Sargodha, Sargodha, Khalid Mahmood, University of the Punjab, Lahore-Pakistan

Third Place: “Information Needs and Seeking Behaviour of Women Entrepreneurs: The use of Social Media by Nurul Afiqah Mohammed Ebnu Saifudin, Department of Library & Information Sciences Faculty of Computer Science & Information Technology Universiti Malaya, Malaysia.
