IUB celebrates Mujib 100 Years and National Library Day 2021

Independent University Bangladesh (IUB) Library arranged an award-giving ceremony of the competition on library e-resources used during the pandemic and inaugurated the library’s world religion corner to celebrate the National Library Day-2021 & 100 years of Mujib on 23rd February 2021. Professor Dr Milan Pagon, Vice-Chancellor (Acting) of IUB, was present as the event’s chief guest.

The program was started with a welcome speech of the University Librarian of IUB, M. Hossam Haider Chowdhury.  Dr Milan shared the thought behind creating the world religion corner. He explained how a religion corner could help the readers of the library. Professor Dr Nasiruddin Mitul, Dean, School of Undergraduate Studies, National University, Bangladesh, participated in the program as the guest of honour. Dr Mitul discussed the importance of the library, education on Library & Information Science. He appreciated the initiatives of the world religion corner established in IUB library. He added that other universities might adopt the concept of building a world religion corner.
