Information architecture for LIS professionals: An online workshop held

The iSAPT Virtual Academy (A research wing of iSAPT Virtual Academy) arranged an online workshop on “Information architecture for LIS professionals” on 27 February 2021 (Saturday) at iSAPT Young Researchers Forum (iSAPTYRF) by using the zoom platform. Library and information professionals of the 21st century require a thorough understanding of information architecture, which focuses on the logical organisation of web information and also proper navigation, labelling and a range of other activities to support usability and findability.

The goal of the webinar was to discuss the fundamentals of IA and the possible roles of LIS professionals in this emerging and highly significant field. Dr Kazi Mostak Gausul Hoq, Prof. and Chairman, Dept. of Information Science and Library Management, University of Dhaka was present as the keynote speaker while Muhammad Khalid Alam, Executive member of iSAPTYRF, and Associate Professor, Dept. of Information Science and Library Management (ISLM) the University of Rajshahi delivered the welcome speech. M. Shamsul Islam Khan, Chair, Dept. of Language & Culture and Library Advisor, Bangladesh University of Health Sciences (BUHS), Dhaka attended the session as the chief guest.

Dr S. M. Zabed Ahmed, Chairman, iSAPT Young Researcher Forum and Prof. Dept. of Information Science and Library Management, University of Dhaka presided over the session.

The event was coordinated by Dr Muhammad Jaber Hossain, Founder and Chairman, iSAPT Virtual Academy and Prof. Dept. of Information Science and Library Management, University of Dhaka. Dr Md. Anwarul Islam, Executive member, iSAPT Virtual Academy and Associate Professor, Dept. of Information Science and Library Management, University of Dhaka moderated the program.
