International Hult Prize-2019 ‘On Campus’ was held at Noakhali Science and Technology University

International Hult Prize-2019 ‘On Campus’ was held for the first time at Noakhali Science and Technology University in collaboration with Institute of Information Sciences, United Nations and Global Clinton Initiative on 5 December, 2018 Wednesday. Touhidur Rahman Adil, student of Institute of Information Sciences, has been selected campus director for the Hult Prize NSTU on-campus programme. Shamima Yesmin, Hult Prize NSTU convenor, is hopeful that the selected team from NSTU has as good a chance as anyone to win this year’s Hult Prize. Vice-chancellor Professor Dr M Wahiduzzaman and Treasurer Professor Dr Mohammed Faruque Uddin of Noakhali Science and Technology University were present as guests of honour.

‘Curriculum Development Workshop’ for BSS program of Institute of Information Sciences was held at Noakhali Science and Technology University

Institute of Information Sciences (IIS), Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU) organized a workshop on curriculum development on Friday 10 December 2018 at Department Virtual Classroom- 1 in Noakhali Science and Technology University. As a chief guest, Professor Dr M Wahiduzzaman, Vice-Chancellor of Noakhali Science and Technology University inaugurated the daylong workshop. Professor Dr Mohammed Faruque Uddin, Treasurer, Noakhali Science and Technology University was also present as a special guest in that workshop. She already instructed the ministries for developing research in the different areas of the Art, Literature, History and Cultures’’- Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor said while unveiling two book titled “HISTORY OF BANGLADESH, Early Bengal in Regional Perspectives” and “National Atlas of Bangladesh” in the Bangladesh Asiatic Society Auditorium at December 9, 2018. The minister also shared that this current Government is highly emphasizing in the research sector and give the highest allotment offer to develop in the research sector in Bangladesh.

A fruitful meeting with Librarians and students (from each institute) of UDL beneficiaries held on Wednesday 12th December 2018 at UGC Auditorium. Concerned Members of UGC, PD (HEQEP), project officials and World Bank officials were present at the meeting. A good number of library professionals including Mr. Hossam Haider Chowdhury, Librarian, Independent University of Bangladesh(IUB), Dr. Mirza Mohd. Rezaul Islam, Librarian, Islamic University of Technology (IUT), Dr. Md. Anwarul Islam, Librarian, Sher-e Bangla Agriculture University, Ms. Hasina Afroz, BRAC University were present along with others.

Bangabandhu and Liberation War Corner Inauguration at Bangladesh Bank Library

Bangabandhu and Liberation War Corner was inaugurated at the Bangladesh Bank Library on 13 December 2018 Thursday. Bangladesh Bank Governor Fazle Kabir inaugurated the corner as a chief guest. Md. Akhtaruzzaman, Executive Director (Research) was present at the event as a special guest. The function was presided over by General Manager (Library) Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman Khan. Executive Directors of the Bank, General Managers and Deputy General Managers and various level officials were present in the program among others. Besides, leaders of Bangabandhu Parishad, Bangladesh Bank Officers Welfare Council, Bangladesh Bank Employees Association (CBA) and participants of other organizations participated in the inauguration program.
