Inauguration of free online course ‘Python for research’ by BRBD

A free orientation class of ‘Python for Research’ was arranged by the popular Facebook group ‘Be Researcher BD-BRBD’ in Bangladesh. The program started at 7.00 pm on March 31, 2021, and ended at 8.10 pm. Out of 1061 registered researchers, teachers and students from more than 110 educational institutions in the country and abroad, 75 people were selected for the course through the online quiz and special rules.

Md. Sabir Hossain, The Founder of the group and Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology, discussed the aims and objectives of the course, the importance of Python, its use in various research fields, reasons for the popularity of Python in the session.

He said that the main objective of this course is to find skilled researchers and people interested in research and to benefit the country and the nation by doing good quality research through multidisciplinary work using Python and other research tools.

Mahmudul Hasan Moon, the course’s instructor and Python expert, discussed how the course will be conducted, the class time, the method and the use of Python. At the end of the orientation, the course mentor and instructor answered the questions of participants.
