Bangabandhu and Liberation War Corner Inauguration at Bangladesh Bank Library
Bangabandhu and Liberation War Corner was inaugurated at the Bangladesh Bank Library on 13 December 2018 Thursday. Bangladesh Bank Governor Fazle Kabir inaugurated the corner as a chief guest. Md. Akhtaruzzaman, Executive Director (Research) was present at the event as a special guest. The function was presided over by General Manager (Library) Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman Khan. Executive Directors of the Bank, General Managers and Deputy General Managers and various level officials were present in the program among others. Besides, leaders of Bangabandhu Parishad, Bangladesh Bank Officers Welfare Council, Bangladesh Bank Employees Association (CBA) and participants of other organizations participated in the inauguration program.
Governor Fazle Kabir, on his speech, said “We were able to achieve independence from the chain of subordination due to Bangabandhu.” Even after the independence, only three and a half years were in his hand for multidimensional work to form a beautiful country. Today’s dream of building a developed country was also the dream of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The Governor also stated, we were lucky that our nation got such a great leader. The governor told the Central Bank officials that using this corner, the interest of knowing about the father of our nation and the liberation war will grow, and the spirit of liberation war will also be awake. During this time, he instructed all of the officials to be inspired by the spirit of independence and run the country’s economy accordingly.
The function was also addressed by Special Guest Executive Director (Research) Md. Akhtaruzzaman and President of General Manager (Library) M Mahbubur Rahman Khan. Besides, Nesar Ahmed Bhuiyan, President of Bangabandhu Parishad and Bir Freedom Fighter and former joint director Abdus Jabbar Dewan also delivered their valuable speech to the officials.
At the end of the speech, Governor Fazle Kabir inaugurated ‘Bangabandhu and Liberation War Corner’ by cutting ribbons with the guests.
