The Department of Information Studies and Library Management, EWU Library and EWU Information Club are going to organise a series of programs from 22 October 2018 to 31 October 2018. The program details are as follows:

Seminar on “Introduction to Citation Management Software: Mendeley  

 

Organised by EWU Library

 

EWU Library is going to organise a seminar on “Introduction to Citation Management Software: Mendeley” on 22 October 2018 (Monday) from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm in S. M. Nousher Ali Lecture Gallery (Room-126), East West University.  Dr Dilara Begum, Associate Professor and Chairperson, Department of Information Studies and Library Management and Librarian (In-charge) will present the topic and demonstrate the use of the mentioned software. Professor Dr Fakrul Alam, Pro-Vice Chancellor, East West University will be present as the Chief Guest in the seminar.

 

 

Seminar on “Data Science: A New Era of Opportunities and Challenges for the Information Professionals in Bangladesh

Department of Information Studies and Library Management is going to organise a seminar on “Data Science: A New Era of Opportunities and Challenges for the Information Professionals in Bangladesh”. at the S. M. Nousher Ali Lecture Gallery (room no. 126), the ground floor of East West University on 22 October 2018 (Monday) at 3:00 p.m. Mr Mohammad Sharif ul Islam, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Information Science and Library Management, University of Dhaka will be present at the event as Guest Speaker and Dr Fouzia Mannan, Dean, Faculty of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, East West University will be present as Chief Guest.

 

 

International Open Access Week 2018

Organised by EWU Library

 

East West University Library will observe International Open Access Week from 23 October 2018 to 24 October 2018 with a series of the program including decoration library with several banners for conveying the message of the week, awareness building campaign as well as organise a quiz competition for students to promote about the potential benefits of Open Access.

 

Established by the Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition (SPARC) and partners in the student community in 2008, International Open Access Week is an opportunity to take action in making openness the default for research—to raise the visibility of scholarship, accelerate research, and turn breakthroughs into better lives.

 

UNESCO Global Media and Information Literacy Week 2018

Organised by East West University Information Club

East West University Information Club (EWUIC) is going to organise a series of programs including rally, awareness building campaign on media and information (MIL), extempore competition and a seminar to commemorate Global MIL Week 2018 from 24 October 2018 to 31 October 2018. This week activities are important opportunities for stakeholders globally to review and celebrate the progress achieved towards the process of “MIL for all”. Global MIL Week also enables connections and sharing of creative projects, the latest research, new ideas, and information across countries and stakeholders involved in MIL, and in print, screen-based and digital media.
