Creative Commons (“CC”) is convening its 2019 Global Summit, to be held at Museu do Oriente, Av. Brasília 352, 1350-352 Lisbon, Portugal May 9-11, 2019.

“I am honoured to be one of the recipients of the CC Global Summit Scholarship Program for 2019 and consider myself fortunate to be able to attend the summit in Portugal. Building a career in a less privileged profession specifically Bangladesh perspective has not offered professional development opportunities compared to other professions. I am sure the news will encourage our young professionals in Bangladesh to be involved with global organizations like CC”.

Creative Commons is an international non-profit organisation that provides free licences and tools that copyright owners can use to allow others to share, reuse and remix their material, legally. Releasing material under a CC licence makes it clear to users what they can or cannot do with the material.

Mr Roy was nominated as the affiliates lead, responsible for Open Education (Tertiary)of the Creative Commons Australia Chapter in its first meeting held in May this year. This meeting marked the establishment of the Australian Chapter, and the first step towards progressing the Creative Commons Global Network Strategy.
