Promotion news: Mr Sheikh Md. Jalal Uddin and Dr Azizur Rahman have been promoted to Additional Librarian

Mr Sheikh Md. Jalal Uddin and Dr Azizur Rahman have been promoted to Additional Librarian at Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University effective from 25 September 2018.
They have been highly influential in the managing library systems and have continued to show an exemplary commitment to their roles as library professionals.
After obtaining Master of Arts in Library and Information Science from the University of Dhaka Mr Jalal Uddin started his professional career at Primary Training Institute at Lakshmipur as Assistant Librarian Cum Cataloguer. Later on, he worked at Directorate of Nonformal Education, Teachers Training College, Mymensingh and University of Asia Pacific (UAP) as Assistant Librarian. He also worked as the Deputy Librarian (Librarian in Charge) before joining to his new role.
Dr Md. Azizur Rahman obtained his BA (Hons) and MA degree from the University of Rajshahi in Library and Information Science and PhD from University of Kalyani, India.
Dr Azizur Rahman has been working in library field for more than nineteen years and involving with teaching and professional practising. Before this promotion, he worked at Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University central library as Assistant Librarian and Deputy Librarian respectively. Earlier, he worked at Cantonment Public College, Mymensingh as a Librarian. Dr Azizur started his career as a Lecturer at the Institute for Library & Information studies (ILIS) Kazla, Rajshahi.
Dr Azizur Rahman has a good number of local and overseas professional training experiences and publications. He has been involved with library movement activities and has a Life Membership of Bangladesh Association of Librarians, Information Scientists and Documentalists (BALID) and Library Association of Bangladesh (LAB).
Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University is a government-financed public university located at Namapara- Battala, Trishal, Mymensingh.
