Training on the Library Automation System (KOHA) for Smart Librarians held

For the first time in Bangladesh, Southeast University Library organised an advanced modular based hands-on training on “Library Automation System (KOHA) for Smart Librarians” on 6 July 2019 at SBS Computer Lab.

Within the daylong exercise session, the training was provided to the participants from the different educational institutions of Bangladesh. A total of 20 participants got this opportunity to learn more about this advanced modular based hands-on training from three trainers in a new way.

The training was facilitated by Mr Mubassir Ahsan, Library In-Charge, Southeast University; Mr Habibe Kibria Chowdhury, Asst. Librarian, JU and Mohammad Joynal Abdin, Senior Lab Instructor, ISLM Dept., DU.

The objective of the workshop was to generate more experts on KOHA open source Integrated Library System (ILS) installation, customising and configurations. The participants equipped with the capacity to manage Koha as LMS at institutions with extensive collections.

Later certificates were distributed among the participants.
