US Ambassador Earl R Miller visited the Banani School Branch of JAAGO Foundation, situated at Korail Slum, Banani, Dhaka. JAAGO Foundation is a civil society organization (CSO) with a mission to break the cycle of poverty through empowering communities, plus ensuring equal opportunities, social justice, and improved quality of life.

The Founder of JAAGO Foundation, Korvi Rakshand, had invited a US Embassy team to spend a day with the school’s students, volunteers, and staff. Ambassador Miller visited the school along with US Embassy Dhaka’s Public Diplomacy Officer Merrie Blocker, the Ambassador’s Office Manager Erné Guzman, and Faroha Suhrawardy, senior program advisor of the Public Affairs Section.

Ambassador Miller was warmly welcomed by the children and spent time with the students. He inquired about the volunteer activities that the Youth Wing of JAAGO, Volunteer for Bangladesh, has undertaken. He then donated some books to the school’s library.
