Bangladeshi ISLM Professional Dr. Md. Mukhlesur Rahman receives double PhD

Dr. Md. Mukhlesur Rahman has received his second PhD in Knowledge Management area from the Graduate School of Advanced Science and Technology, Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST), Japan. Dr. Mukhles obtained this degree after fulfilment of a series of criteria of JAIST which includes compilation of course work, conducting a minor research project, the participation of international conferences, publishing research findings in international journals, writing up a dissertation, and defending the dissertation in several stages.

Dr. Mukhles recorded his research finding in the dissertation entitled ‘Resource integration for value co-creation in archival service ecosystem’ under the supervision of Dr. Kunio Shirahada, Associate Professor, School of Knowledge Science, JAIST. In the dissertation, Dr. Mukhles demonstrated archive management strategies from service science and value co-creation point of view where he proved that archive centre along cannot handle changing information-seeking behaviour of users, the expectation of stakeholders and ever-changing nature of technologies. Rather archive centre should integrate operant resources (skills and knowledge) from different actors (users, stakeholders, and archive staff) in a favourable co-creation platform for maximizing archival value. Accordingly, he developed an archival value co-creation model for prefectures, city, municipal and academic archive centres in Japan combining actors, resources and co-creation platform. The entire research activities have been examined by Professor Dr. Youji Kohda, Dean, School of Knowledge Science, JAIST, Japan; Professor Masao Takaku, Faculty of Library, Information and Media Studies, University of Tsukuba, Japan; Professor Nam Van Huynh, Vietnam; and Professor Kim Eunyoung, Korea.
