AFM Kamrul Hasan wins TLT Excellence School Librarian Award 2021 (The School Librarian of the Year Award)
AFM Kamrul Hasan has been nominated by The School Library Association of Bangladesh (SLABD) for TLT School Librarian of the Year 2021 Award. The award includes a crest, 10000 BDT, certificate and gifts by the event sponsor. Recipients of the award will be invited to an event at the Department of Information Science and Library Management, the University of Dhaka in due course.
He is currently serving as an Assistant Librarian (Assistant Teacher, Library and Information Science, new name) in a reputed high school in Bangladesh. Before that, he was a Junior teacher in a high school and a field officer at Association for Rural Poor (ARP).
He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Gurudoyal Govt. College, Kishoregonj under the National University of Bangladesh and a Diploma in Library and Information Science from the IshaKha International University, Bangladesh.
He has been actively engaged in ensuring the right and upholding the image of school librarians of Bangladesh since the establishment of the School Library Association of Bangladesh (SLABD).
Mr Kamrul is the President of the School Library Association of Bangladesh (SLABD). His role in establishing the SLABD in 2017 was significant. He has been nominated for the School Librarian of the Year Award for his courageous leadership and a vital role in giving school librarians the teachers’ status in Bangladesh.
