TLT Awards giving ceremony was held on November 6, 2021

The librarian times award distribution ceremony was held on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at 10:30 AM at University of Dhaka.

TLT Awards, for the first time, was introduced in February 2018. The winners of TLT Awards for 2021 have been officially announced in April 2021, but there hasn’t been a separate event for the awards giving ceremony after the COVID-19 restrictions have been eased in Bangladesh.

Note that TLT awards committee for 2021 was formed with the collaboration of Library Associations of Bangladesh (LAB), Bangladesh Association of Librarians, Information Scientists and Documentalists (BALID), Medical Library Associations of Bangladesh (MedLAB), School Library Associations of Bangladesh (SLABD), Director-General, Department of Public Libraries and the dept. of Information Science and Library Management, the University of Dhaka and Rajshahi.

All the award winners were present at the event to receive the awards. Library professionals from different platforms joined the program online and offline and succeeded in the program.

The program venue was at the information science and library management department, the University of Dhaka. Many library professionals had their classes during their university life, and many promising professionals are being made now.

The honourable Chairman, Prof. Dr Md Saiful Islam, Department of Information Science and Library Management, University of Dhaka, chaired the program while Md. Ahasan Habib, associate editor TLT, Head of Library, IUT, facilitated the program.

 

The program was inaugurated by cutting a cake to celebrate the 4th Anniversary of TLT and a welcome speech by the honourable chair. After the chair speech, the award-giving ceremony took place on time. Awardees were handed over crests, certificates, books and a cash amount. Appreciation certificates were handed out to the panellists titled “discussion on Crafting a Resilient Future of Library and Information Science Research and Services in Bangladesh in TLT Awards 2021″.

The event sponsors also received appreciation certificates for their tremendous support for making the event successful.

The award winners shared their vote of thanks to TLT for continuing the award-giving program for the last four years. Despite the pandemic situation, TLT did not step back to recognise the hardworking professionals of this field.

Professor Dr S M Mannan was awarded, Dr Md. Nazim Uddin Memorial Academic of the year award 2021.

AFM Kamrul Hasan was awarded TLT Excellence School Librarian Award 2021 (The School Librarian of the Year). Monirul Islam was awarded TLT Excellence Medical Librarian Award 2021 (The Medical Librarian of the Year).

ABM Safiqul Alam was awarded TLT Excellence Special Librarian Award 2021 (The Special Librarian of the Year).

Sazzadul Karim was awarded TLT Excellence Public Librarian Award 2021 (The Public Librarian of the Year ). Shah Abdul Kabej was awarded TLT Excellence Academic Librarian Award 2021 (Academic Librarian of the Year).

Rihana Khatun was awarded Dr Md Nazim Uddin Memorial LIS Student of the Year Award (The LIS Student of the Year, University of Rajshahi).

Shammy Akhter Shikha was awarded, Dr Md. Nazim Uddin Memorial Student of the year Award (The Student of the Year, University of Dhaka).

TLT editorial members include Syeda Mukta Begum, Mir Adiba Awlad,  Prodip Aich, Md. Monirul Islam, Nawshaba Bulia,  Amrita Rani Das received recognition certificates for their hard work and continuous contribution to TLT.

Syeda Mukta Begum received an appreciation certificate of Recognition- for her outstanding performance and contribution to the Librarian Times since 2018. Molla Mohammed Shoeb received a Certificate of Appreciation for his contribution to the Librarian Times since 2017.

Mir Adiba Awlad received a Certificate of Appreciation for representing as one of the moderators in TLT Awards 2021 to make a grand success. Prodip Aich, Media & Marketing Editor, TLT- received a Certificate of Appreciation for his outstanding media and marketing support to make TLT Awards 2021 a grand success.

Md. Monirul Islam, Contributing Editor, TLT, received a Certificate of Appreciation for his active performance and contribution to the Librarian Times as a newcomer. Nawshaba Bulia, Contributing Editor, TLT received a Certificate of Appreciation for her active performance and contribution to the Librarian Times as a newcomer.

Amrita Rani Dash, Contributing Editor, TLT-received Certificate of Appreciation for her active performance and contribution to the Librarian Times as a newcomer.

Mir Adiba Awlad, Assistant Media and Marketing Editor, TLT, also received a Certificate of Appreciation for her active performance and contribution to the Librarian Timesas a newcomer.

Mir Adiba Awlad, assistant media & marketing editor, TLT, hosted the award program while Amrita Rani Dash monitored the program successfully.  Joy Rozario made the event memorable with his powerful camera clicks.

The program was broadcast live on TLT Facebook page, where thousands enjoyed the program through the online platform.

The program ended with the vote of thanks by Ahasan Habib.
