The second day of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) Information Futures Summit (IIFS) 2024 kicked off with a captivating virtual conversation between Carla Hayden, 14th U.S. Librarian of Congress, and Kate Zwaard, Director of Digital Strategy at the Library of Congress. They joined live from Washington D.C., and shared insights on the future of information from the perspective of the world’s largest library.

  • Dilara Begum (Bangladesh) examined readiness to adopt artificial intelligence in libraries.
Keynote Speakers Offer Visionary Insights
Jean Burgess delivered a compelling keynote address, “From Social Media to Generative AI: How Do We Keep Society in the Loop?” She showcased collaborative research projects addressing digital media and information environment changes.
Constance Malpas, Executive Director of OCLC Research and Programming, presented the closing keynote, “Leading the Library Response.” Malpas linked big-picture issues with granular library concerns, highlighting technological and legislative developments.
