Syeda Mukta Begum is a Library Officer in the Senior Library, Tanglin Trust School, Singapore. Prior to joining this, she was a Librarian in International School Dhaka (ISD). She completed her B. A (Hons.), M.A and M.Phil. degree from the Department of Information Science and Library Management from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Ms. Mukta started her early career as a Librarian in Democracywatch. Following this, she was a Documentation Supervisor in Bangladesh National Women Lawyers’ Association and a Librarian in Ebenezer International School Dhaka, and an Intern in Community Development Library (CDL).

Moreover, Ms. Mukta completed her six months certificate teaching course titled Continuing Professional Education Programme: Becoming a Reflective Teacher under the Aga Khan University, Institute for Educational Development, Karachi, Pakistan. In her professional journey, she participated in numerous professional developments including Follett workshops-Asia, Kevin Hennah workshop for Vision 2020, etc. in Bangladesh, Thailand, and Singapore. As an IB trained librarian, she completed workshops including ‘Differentiation’, ‘PYP Concept-based Learning’: (Cat. 3), ‘Making This PYP Happen in the Classroom’ (Cat.1), and ‘The Role of Librarian in PYP, MYP and DP’ (Cat.3) workshops through face-to-face and online.  She is also experienced with modern school libraries and provided Library Consultant services as a volunteer to some organizations. Ms. Mukta has advanced ICT skills including Library makerspace, digital tools and equipment, and various Library Management Software as well as digital resources. In addition, she is a Life Member of the Library Association of Bangladesh (LAB) and the Bangladesh Association of Librarians, Information Scientists, and Documentalists (BALID). Moreover, she is also an Institutional Member of the Library Association of Singapore (LAS) and International School Library Network (ISLN).
