Second International Workshop on ‘How to Employ Theories and Analyse Data for Publishing LIS Research?’
SIG-III – Association for Information Science and Technology invites the LIS academic, researchers and professionals to attend the Second International Workshop on ‘How to Employ Theories and Analyse Data for Publishing LIS Research’ will be held on September 21, 2022.
Title: Use of Theories and Models in Conducting LIS Research
Resource Person : Dr Devendra Potnis
Abstract
Dr Potnis will demonstrate how his peer-reviewed research publications in top-tier journals employed interdisciplinary theories and models for (1) managing LIS research projects, (2) proposing research questions, (3) proposing and testing hypotheses in explanatory studies, (4) proposing and testing mathematical equations in exploratory studies, (5) thematic coding, (6) conceptual content analysis, (7) open coding, (8) grounded theory analysis, (9) analysing and comparing multiple case examples, (10) deriving hypotheses as an end product, and (11) answering practice-based research questions.
Title: Managing Qualitative Research with NVivo
Resource Person: Dr Shafiq Ur Rehman
Abstract
Dr Rehman will demonstrate how NVivo works for analysing qualitative data in research. This demonstration will lead to how to set up a project, NVivo’s workspace (Interface views), and create and navigate around a project. It will focus on data feeding, data accessing and reading, creating nodes, data coding, searching, treemapping, cluster analysis, word trees and new models. This will be followed by a practical question and answer session.
