Md. Jahangir Alam

Md. Jahangir Alam has been awarded his doctoral degree by the Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP). The 68th Syndicate Meeting of Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) held on 29 March 2023 conferred the PhD degree.

His research title was “Service Quality and Its Impact on User Satisfaction in University Libraries of Bangladesh”.

As a PhD Research Fellow, Jahangir Alam received a research grant for 2021 provided by the Asiatic Society of Bangladesh.

Before the PhD degree, Md. Jahangir Alam was awarded an MPhil degree from BUP for the thesis “Assessing Adoption and Satisfaction of Open Source Integrated Library System in the University Libraries of Bangladesh”.

Further, he completed a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Information Science and Library Management from the University of Dhaka. He also had a PGD degree in Computer Science from the Bangladesh Institute of Management.

He serves as a Librarian and Adjunct Faculty at the International Islamic University Chittagong.
He has gained professional work experience with a seventeen-year reputation in various libraries and research institutions.
Md. Jahangir Alam is the fourth child of Md. Akbar Ali and Sorimon Nesa of a noble Muslim family of Tulsidanga village under Kalaroa thana of Satkhira district.
