Training on Turnitin: plagiarism & similarity checker for LIS Professionals, held at ULAB Library

ULAB Library of University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) organised a training session on Turnitin: plagiarism & similarity checker for LIS Professionals on 20 June 2022 at 11 am online via video conferencing. Turnitin is a text-matching software to detect similarities between submission and previously presented work.

Lt Col Md. Foyzul Islam (Retd.), Registrar, ULAB, delivered a welcome address in the session, while Mr K.M. Hasan Emam, Joint Librarian and Library Head, ULAB, conducted the training session as a resource person.

Sixty-four participants from 54 different private and public university libraries, institutions and research organisations attended this training session. Some participants also joined from overseas.

Professionals from different organisations appreciated the ULAB Library initiative regarding knowledge sharing as the session was interactive. Participants express their interest in participating in more sessions like this.

The training program ended with a Q/A session.

 

 

Two-day long ‘ULAB Book Fair’ held at ULAB

A two-day-long ULAB Book Fair 2019 was held from 14-15 June 2019 at ULAB along with International Conference theme “Rivers and Religion” which is being jointly organized by the South & Southeast Asian Association for the Study of Culture & Religion (SSEASR) and University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB). ULAB Vice Chancellor, Professor H. M. Jahirul Haque has inaugurated the book fair. The event was very much lively where 16 publishers participated.
