We will gradually complete the 2nd and 3rd phases of the projects and the whole library functions will be fully automated said Ms Basunia.

She also expressed that there will be more initiatives and projects soon to develop CU Central Library in the near future. The cyber centre has 10 modern computers with internet facilities for users to access the Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) and to search online resources of the library. Currently, CU Central Library provides reading, internet and computerization facilities to the users of the university.

Prior to joining the CU central library, Ms Basunia worked as a Librarian in Asian University for Woman.

Chittagong University’s (CU) central library has come a long way since it started its journey with only 14,000 books and limited staff in 1968.
