Mirzapur Cadet College Library, Tangail has launched Koha-Open Source Integrated Library System on 07 April 2019 to manage its library. Honourable Principal of Mirzapur Cadet College, Mr Biman Roy Chowdhury, Adjutant Major Malek, Medical Officer Major Dr Khushrooz Samad, Librarian Mr Md. Nayeem Moortoza, faculty members, officials and students were present in the Inaugural session of the software.

The principal mentioned in his speech that, “Mirzapur is the third Cadet College of Bangladesh which has such a historic library and it is our pride to make the library digitized”.

Enamul Haq were present at the event.

The event was organised to celebrate different national days including Victory Day, International Mother Language Day and National Children’s Day. Mr Mozammel Bhuyan, a student of the Department of Information Science and Library Management, University of Dhaka has been awarded the Lion Md. Jonab Ali and Farzana Jonab Gold Medal, 2016. He is honoured with the Gold Medal for obtaining highest CGPA (3.85 out of 4.00) in B.A. (Hons.) final examination in 2016. He completed his M.A. degree with highest CGPA (3.97 out of 4.00) in 2017. The Medal was handed over to Mr Mozammel during 51st Convocation of the University of Dhaka on October 6, 2018.

A crest and certificate were warmly received by Mr Asish Kumar Sarker, Director General (Additional Secretary), Department of Public Libraries, with duly signed by Asaduzzaman Noor, Honorable Minister, Ministry of Cultural Affairs, and Honorable Secretary Mr Md. Nasiruddin Ahmed.
