Seminar on ‘Our Expectation to National Book Centre’ held at CIRDAP International Convention Centre

A seminar titled ‘Our Expectation to National Book Centre’ was held at CIRDAP International Convention Centre on May 30, 2019. The seminar was organised by the National Book Centre and presided by Dr Abu Hena Mostafa Kamal, Secretary in charge, Ministry of Culture Affairs, Bangladesh. Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury, Chief Co-ordinator, National Implementation Committee of Bangabandhu’s birth centenary was present as the special guest, while Minar Mansur, Director, National Book Centre presented a welcome speech on the event.

During the seminar, Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury said, “There is no substitute of books to make creative minds. But the quality of books and the number of libraries have been decreased from the past. The National Book Centre could play a vital role to overcome such challenges and to develop the library and readership.” Novelist- litterateur Imdadul Haq Milan, President of Bangladesh Gyan and Srijonshil Prokashak Samiti (an organisation of publishers), Farid Ahmed; PSC member Asad Mannan; Agami Prakashoni CEO, Osman Gani; Panjeree Publications Chairman Kamrul Hasan also spoke on the discussion.
